Katherine Wilson is licensed massage therapist, certified mindful expressionist, registered yoga teacher, and practitioner of quantum healing hypnosis technique.
Katherine's work is focused on facilitating change within the body.
She believes that the best health insurance is the active prevention of disharmony, disfunction, and disease within the body, as well as the mind. Utilizing the practices of therapeutic massage, yoga, breathing techniques, and meditation; her clients and or students are always encouraged to deepen their awareness, gathering more information, so as to discover the root causes of their pain, and or discomfort.
Katherine studied bodywork at the Costa Rica school of massage therapy in 2009, and returned to CRSMT in 2011 to apprentice with the schools founder, and then director, Jill Kristin Berkana. Upon completing this intense program Katherine became certified as a bodywork instructor; and certified Mindful Expressionists. Only days before returning to Costa Rica in the spring of 2011 Katherine completed a 200hr yoga alliance certified YTT program at Yoga to the People in New York City.
She taught a number of bodywork courses at CRSMT, and the Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy over the course of few years, before returning home to Martha's Vineyard, full time. There, she continued to cultivate her craft, and expand her practice.
In 2012 Katherine received a certification in the Barkan Method, she taught this, as well as hot vinyasa yoga, at Tapas Hot Yoga until they closed in 2014. It was then that she started teaching yoga at One Hot Yoga, and deepen her relationship with both the practice of yoga, and the yoga of teaching. You can find her there still! (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30pm, & Wednesday mornings at 8:30).
